Fenghe Village

Features:
Zeifeng Village is located at the southeastern corner of Syuejia District and it was first settled by members of the Lai Clan migrating from Syuejiaxizai Qian during the last years of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty. A small group of people of the Sie Clan also moved in afterwards. This area was once called Caodi because of its low elevation. Any rain or flood would create a mixture of grass, water, and mud. The people thus called this area Meifeng (beautiful and bountiful) to symbolize their hope for building a beautiful and bountiful homeland. Meihe Village is also located at the southeastern side of Syuejia District. Dingcaodi was the area settled during the last years of Emperor Yongzheng by the 6th Chamber of the Jhuang Clan from Syuejia, while Zhongcaodi was the area settled by members of the Chen Clan. After World War II, the areas were merged to form a single Meihe Village. The administrative district adjustments of February 1, 2006 merged Meifeng Village and Meihe Village to form Fenghe Village.
