Wu San-lian  

  Mr. Wu was born in 1898 in Tougangzi and he graduated from Hitotsubashi University in Japan. He was the founder of Tainan Spinning, Universal Cement Corporation, and IDN News and was regarded as a leader of entrepreneurs from Tainan. Mr. Wu has also served as a representative in the National Assembly, Mayor of Taipei City, provincial legislator, and national policy advisor. He is known for his principled and upright character. His guidance had led to numerous professionals and leaders in Taiwanese businesses and art, making him a very well-respected elder of the country.

Chen Hua-zong

  Mr. Chen Hua-zong is a member of the renowned Chen Clan of Syuejia's Zhongzhou area. Born in 1903, Mr. Chen traveled to Japan and graduated from the department of history at Rissho University. When he was 31, Mr. Chen was appointed as the Chief of Syuejia-Sho and was in charge of urban planning, land consolidation, and street layouts, establishing the foundations for future development in Syuejia.
In 1946, Mr. Chen was elected as the head of the Tainan County Council after its establishment, serving for 4 consecutive terms. He was later placed in charge of the Chianan Taiwan Joint Irrigation Association, planning the construction of Baihe Reservoir, expansion of the irrigation canal systems and waterworks, as well as drilling of wells to tap into the Yunlin aquifers. In 1964, Mr. Chen was elected as a provincial legislator and continued to serve a second term after winning a vast majority of votes in 1968.

The brothers Wu Siou-ci and Wu Zun-sian  

  These two brothers, together with a fellow brother Wu Jyun-jie, were founders of Xinhexing Textiles. The two brothers then went on to establish Tainan Spinning Company with Wu San-lian, Hou Yu-li, and Wang Jin-chang, and continued to play important roles in the business and commercial world. The brothers also established the Wu Siou-ci Family and Cultural and Educational Foundation as well as the Wu Zun-sian Cultural and Educational Foundation. The former established rewards to support acts of filial piety and respect for one's parents, while the latter rewarded achievements of social charity. Both rewards served as classical examples of philanthropist activities among the rich and successful Taiwanese.

Jhuang Bo-lin  

  Born in 1935, Mr. Jhuang graduated from National Tainan First Senior High School and College of Law of National Taiwan University. He served on the Legal Affairs Committee of the Taiwan Provincial Government as well as the judge and prosecutor of the district court and supreme court. After serving in various government offices for 20 years, Mr. Jhuang finally retired from public life but continued to practice law privately and currently lectures in Tamkang University and Chinese Culture University. Mr. Jhuang was also a poet in his free time. His works have been included in the 1985 Taiwanese Anthology. In 1991, Mr. Jhuang published the Xibeiyu (northwestern rain) anthology and is currently the chairperson of the Lishishe (Farmer's Straw Hat Poet Association).

Gao Cing-yuan  

  Born in 1929, Mr. Gao is a native of Xinfang. Mr. Gao became involved in businesses and commerce after graduating from elementary school, and became a marketing manager of Tainan Spinning Company in 1955. In 1967, Mr. Gao established the Uni-President Corporation and served as its general manager, and is now chairperson of the board of the corporation as well as the general director of the Chinese National Federation of Industries. Mr. Gao is also a Central Standing Committee Member of the KMT and is widely recognized as the perfect example of a self-made man and government-recognized entrepreneur in Taiwan.

Sie San-sheng  

  Born in 1943, Mr. Sie graduated from the graduate institute of public administration of National Chengchi University. Mr. Sie began his political career in 1977 by participating in the provincial legislator elections for the first time. Mr. Sie was nicknamed Little Kongming (the master strategist) and was a member of the Iron-Trio (with You Si-kun and Su Jhen-chang). Mr. Sie was a founding member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and had been successfully elected in the 7th, 8th, and 9th provincial legislator elections. Mr. Sie passed away in 1997. 

Wong Chuan-pei  

  Mr. Wong was born in 1928 at Tougangzi of Syuejia and founded several major spinning companies in Taiwan such as I-Hwa Industrial Company and Chia Her Industrial Company. For this feat, he was regarded as a leader of Taiwanese spinning industries. He diversified his businesses, entering multiple sectors and investing all over the world. He created Chia Her Group, one of the top 100 Taiwanese companies, and was dedicated to corporate social responsibility and community work, establishing Chia Her as a model example for Taiwanese business management. 

Father Brendan O'Connell (Gan Hui-zhong ) 

  Father O'Connell has served Taiwan for 23 years, offering his youth and unbounded love to this land and its people. Father O'Connell invested and established the Kaohsiung Leren Center, Yujing Township Theresa Learning Center, and Syuejia Township Bethlehem Cultural and Educational Foundation. For his deeds and works of charity, Father O'Connell was rewarded with Honorary Citizenship of Taiwan Province.                                                  

Guo Ciou-huang

  Mr. Guo was born in 1908 at Dingxizhouzai of Syuejia, Tainan. He graduated from National Tainan Second Senior High School. After graduating from Taipei High School in 1931, Mr. Guo studied economics at University of Tokyo. He returned to Taiwan after his graduation in March 1934 and served as an associate council member of Syuejia-Sho. Once the local system was revamped, Mr. Guo was elected as an associate council member of the local electorate. In 1937, Mr. Guo established the Beimen-Ken land improvement group and served as its director. In 1940, Mr. Guo served as the director of the Syuejia Credit Union. In the following year, he was elected as the director of the Nanya Flour Production Company as well as an advisor of Xingnan News Company. Mr. Guo's personal hobbies include Go and Mahjong. After the war, Mr. Guo continued to serve the government in the 1st and 3rd Provisional Council Member of Taiwan Province as well as the 1st Council Member of Taiwan Province.

Sie Guo-cheng

  Mr. Sie was born in 1912 in Syuejia and moved to Japan when he was 8, completing his elementary, high school, and college education in Japan. After 1946, Mr. Sie moved back to Taiwan and devoted his entire life in promoting baseball in his native country, building a strong tradition and leading the Chinese Jinlong Youth Baseball Team to their epic victory in the 1969 Little League Baseball World Series. Since then, Taiwanese baseball teams would go on to secure more victories in the LLB, Senior LLB, and AA World Youth Baseball Championships. Such dedication to baseball helped win admiration and respect throughout the entire nation. For these deeds, Mr. Sie was regarded as the Father of Baseball and the Little League.
